The Holoholo I Kai Shoreline Fishing Tournament Of Aloha Festival Island Of Hawaii

RULES AND REGULATIONS

The following rules shall apply to Moananui Ocean Festivals Shoreline Fishing Tournament.

1. All entrants she be confined to fishing from the shoreline of Hawaii Island and must be accessible on foot, not dropping off by boat.

2. Entrants must cast his or her own pole is in the adult men and women division.

3. Parent may assist Keiki in casting and landing fish.

4. Fish that appear to have been frozen or spoiled will be disqualified.

5. A fish that has been mutilated or bitten by a shark will be disqualified.

6. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during the entire tournament.

7. Each individual is eligible to win only ONE place in ONE division.

8. Tie Breaker: If there is a tie in any division. The winner will be determined by who weighed their fish first.

Eligibility:

All tournament participants must submit a completed entry form, signed waiver, signed release form and paid by the registration deadline June 7, 2024.

Fishing Location:

Every entrant is limited to Hawaii Island shoreline only, where fishing is allowed by law.

Eligible Species

Ā· Roi - Peacock grouper (Cephalopholis argus)

Ā· Taā€™ape ā€“ Blue stripe Snapper (Lutjanus Kasmira)

Ā· Toā€™au ā€“ Blacktail Snapper (Lutjanus fulvus)

All fish must meet the state minimum size requirement.

Fishing Methods:

Ā· All fishing must be done with a rod and reel outfit.

Ā· 4 pole limit per participant.

Ā· Each fish must be hooked, fought, and brought in by one person.

Ā· Another person may assist by shining a light to guide the angler to where he/she is walking/ fighting a fish.

Ā· A contestant cited by officers for violation of local, State or Federal fishing regulations may be disqualified.

Rules for Team Division (Father and Keiki):

The team will consist of only One Adult (18yrs+) and One Keiki (child 5-17hrs).

Participants who have entered the team division may not enter the individual

division.

Adult Division ā€“ Heaviest combined weight of all 3 invasive species

1st Place, 2nd Place,3rd Place

Team Division ā€“ Most pieces combined

1st Place, 2nd Place,3rd Place

Start: Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 5:00 am

End: Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 10:30 am

Weigh-In Date and Time: June 15, 2024 10:30 to 12:00 (no exceptions)

Weigh-In Location: Hapuna Prince Hotel at Kohala Graden
